Artwork

Earlier this week, I discovered some really interesting designs on the net. It's artwork, but not the kind Ira Roslan is well known for.

You know all those movie posters you see every time you step into a cinema? Well, an artist called Olly Moss did some versions of his own for a certain set of movies to be screened for free down in the States. Take a look.

Robocop happens to be one of my all time favourites, and this poster is just magnificent. Notice how the visor on his helmet is in the shape of the gun he uses? Brilliant.
Rocky is action star Sylvester Stallone's famous film about the underdog boxer who eventually becomes a champion. In the film, there is a scene where he runs up the museum stairs as he trains, which is an iconic scene, hence the image on the poster.Dirty Harry is one of Clint Eastwood's iconic film roles. Look closely at the gun, it's Clint's profile on the right side of it.

In There Will Be Blood, Daniel Day-Lewis plays a man obsessed with finding oil, and he goes head to head with a misguided preacher over a land containing oil. This is interpreted in the poster with an oil digger in a shape of a crucifix.

I did some more research on the artist's work, and I found more movie posters he did which are interpretations of the film's characters or scenes. When time permits, I'll show you more in the future.
